Stadium Economics Tracker

A comprehensive web application that tracks and analyzes the economics of major US sports stadiums, with a particular focus on public subsidies and return on investment. This project demonstrates how modern web technologies can make complex economic data accessible and actionable.

Built with Astro and Tailwind CSS on the frontend, the application features an interactive map for stadium locations, ROI analysis calculating “Public Cost per Win,” and sortable tables for stadium metrics. The backend leverages Cloudflare Workers with Hono.js, backed by a Cloudflare D1 SQLite database.

Key features include insights on funding sources, responsive design with theme toggle, and a professional UI inspired by The Economist. The project currently tracks 5 NFL stadiums and provides extensive testing for functionality, showcasing how data visualization can illuminate the intersection of sports, economics, and public policy.
